From October 18th to October 20th, the 2019 U.I.M F1 Motorboat World Championship China Xiamen Grand Prix will be held in Wuyuan Bay, Xiamen, China. The F1 Motorboat World Championship was founded in 1981. It is the highest-level powerboat event under the U.I.M International Motorboat Federation. Together with the Olympic Games, the World Cup and the F1 car race, it is recognized as having greater influence. The F1 motorboat is known as the "seaplane", with a top speed of 280 kilometers per hour, which is interesting, competitive, and challenging. Each season of the competition will hold about 10 sub-stations all over the world, and it "landed" in China for the first time in 1995. As a single-seater motorboat inshore race, it represents the highest level of water races.

The current F1 Motorboat World Championships also returned to Xiamen after a lapse of 22 years since 1997.

This competition is the fourth time that the Chinese team has launched the championship. The Chinese participating team "China Tianrong F1 Motorboat Team" won the F1 Motorboat World Championship three consecutive times in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
