On the northwest edge of the Badain Jaran Desert is the China Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. It is the earliest and largest comprehensive satellite launch center established in China. Numerous aerospace entrepreneurs have set up camp here. They left their homes and abandoned the opportunity to meet with their families and stay with their loved ones. They went deep into this desolate and isolated vast desert, and came here to make contributions, explore the mysteries of space, and chase the flying of the Chinese. Dream.
In 1956, China's aerospace industry had just started. Now that a Jiazi has gone, people may have the names of these astronauts in people's minds: Qian Xuesen, Ren Xinmin, Tu Shoue, Huang Weilu, Yang Liwei, etc. Time flies, the yellow sand has flooded the traces of the years, but it can't stop generations of astronauts from dreaming of flying to the sky, nor can it erase the silent contributions of one astronaut after another.
As early as 1958, Marshal Nie Rongzhen and other first-generation entrepreneurs in our country came to this barren and desolate desert to concentrate the nation’s scientific and technological forces relatively, form fists, and carry out strategic measures for breakthroughs, making the scientific and technological front obtain breakthrough achievements time and time again. Since then, the great journey of my country's aerospace industry has begun. And even the successful development of the "two bombs and one satellite" later, also condensed a lot of efforts of Marshal Nie Rongzhen, marking a breakthrough achievement in China's defense science and technology cause. Dedicating youth to the motherland, dedicating youth to life, and dedicating life to children and grandchildren, this seems to be the tacit understanding of generations of spaceflights.
Looking back on the glorious years of the past, China Aerospace started with numerous obstacles, explored, and continues to achieve breakthroughs today. Behind these achievements are the selfless dedication of countless Chinese astronauts and the silent support of many “civil forces”.
